It is that time of the year to think about what you really want to do or accomplish in the upcoming year. We are 29 days into January and I have some things that I need to finally overcome. I guess you could call them challenges. New year, new challenges and time to overcome the insanity. Yes, I called it insanity. Insanity is doing the same things over and over and getting the same results, but expecting a different outcome.
New Year, New Challenges: Overcoming my 3 F’s
Finances: This is the one for me. Money has been the one thing that has stressed me out for years. It is the one thing that occupies my mind throughout the day. It is a silent thought— a stressor. I may not show it or say it, but I am definitely thinking about money. I have always been a “figurer”—a person who figures out how to make her money work for her needs, no matter how much money she has. “Figuring” in your mind takes a lot of energy. This year, I will let go of the figuring and will believe, “I have enough” and “My needs will be met”. I will be accountable and more vigilant about what I spend, how I spend, and my earning potential. As the “people” say, “it takes money to make money”. So, no excuses. I will invest in myself to make it happen. I deserve that!
